Media Monitors Releases 2009 Cable TV Totals

White Plains, NY (January 8, 2010) – Media Monitors, the leader in broadcast and cable monitoring, released the 2009 Cable TV SPOT TEN® showing the leaders in cable advertising in the last year from markets we monitor.

In cable for 2009, the #1 advertiser according to the Local Cable monitored by Media Monitors was Wal-Mart running 1,136,252 spots in the period from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009. #2 was GEICO with 767,121 ads, while VERIZON was in at #3 with 632,043 spots. PROGRESSIVE was #4 running 581,053 spots and AT&T was #5 with 547,597 commercials. KFC was #6 with 503,059 spots, while FORD LINCOLN MERCURY drove into #7 with 499,988. BINDER & BINDER (Legal Services) was #8 airing 488,004 spots and PIZZA HUT was #9 airing 409,217 spots. OLAY was #10 with 394,545 spots for the year.
